Training for carers of elderly

Training duration: 90 hours
Beginning: October 2011

The program is addressed to carers working with elderly people. Aim of the program is the acquisition of specialized knowledge regarding medical, psychologigal and social problems that the elderly face, in order to reflect all the possible needs of the care units of the elderly and of the current programs of assistance of the elderly.

The program includes:
-Institutional arrangements for facilities of senior citizens and EU Policies
-Demographic and socioeconomic data for the elderly
Normal Aging: Disorders and responses
Usual problems that the elderly in need of rehabilitation face
Social and psychological changes during old age
Methodologies to address the problems of elderly
Pathological medical problems of old age
Measures to prevent nursing care (Bedridden / Facing pressure sores / Adjustments / Accident prevention / Medication / Nutrition
Modern methods of intervention (Social exclusion and social reintegration of the elderly, Practical interventions to improve the quality of life, Creative /Alternative methods of intervention and communication: theoretical and workshop form)
Diversity and acceptance

Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive a certificate of attendance in accordance with the standards of HRDA / Human Resource Development Authority
